Rod,
Yes, we have made a
great start, by making
a clearing in the woods. Now the hard work will begin, to see whether
we can
actually design and implement a research program based on the working
hypothesis. I feel very humble here: suggesting, as I did, that we can
replace
lofty traditional paths of practice by the short-cut of a working
hypothesis,
is a huge claim. It may or may not work. Either way, the attempt itself
for me
is a way of paying my respect to the traditional ways and all those who
have
gone before us.
