Frank's Quarterly Summary
On a community level
there are various things I appreciated during these three months. That
we as
spiritual friends wake up together, share our mediation experiences so
openly
is useful and this open exchange quite new to me. I often felt inspired
by
reading about others experiences. Comments by other on my practice have
often
been illuminating and helping me to overcome unseen limitations in
whatever my
approach at the moment was. Also making first steps in commenting on
others'
experiences skillfully is a very good thing to learn to make a group of
spiritual friends productive and I'd love to see more of this (both
from myself
and others).
So I am
quite happy
with this form. Although my mind is quite fickle and jumpy as far as
practices
are concerned, working with wh became a habit through the structure of
the
experiment. Also commenting on other's experiences.
On the
content of
working with wh I wrote quite a bit. Being a lazy and comfort-loving
chap I
gravitate to apply wh gently rather in a struggling fashion and to
connect it
with my others favorites on direct path practices towards liberation,
in
particular basic awareness practice, surrender and also sometimes
devotion to
the perfection.
Wh turns out
to be
quite a dharma-chameleon. When I am in relative-world suffering, wh
fits in
perfectly, soothes me and helps to put things back into perspective. On
an
absolute plain it points to the nature of how things really, because I
guess,
only there, wh can hold 100 %. And there are also different qualities
of
perfection that I discover over time. So wh points in a good direction
no
matter where you start. I like the practice.
Now I am
wondering, how
many perfections there are, 5, 12 or 84000? If a list of the
perfections doesn't exist yet, it would be nice to add a list with this
content
to Tibetan Buddhism.
